Our Stay at the Resort Anselmo

With Brian and Matt partying on business trips (thats what they really do, right?), the boys and I went to stay with Kim and her girls. Except for getting enough sleep, I truely think you have to leave your kids to accomplish that, it was so relaxing. Matt, can I just say what a fabulous wife you got!! I have never met anyone so clean and organized in my life. I learned a ton!

We went to the mall, rode the carosel, went to the park, swimming and just chilled at home. It was such a nice little retreat for me, and the boys had a blast. Ben woke up this morning asking when we will go back.

Thanks so much Kim for a great getaway, all the soda I ever wanted, and being my American Idol buddy!

There is a line in an SNL skit that says "Mr. Pibb + Red Vines= Crazy Delicious", well I couldn't help thinking that Mom & Dad's Bed + Lightening McQueen is about as great for my boys. This one is for you babe, we miss ya!

Go Tigers

Ben started soccer this week and had a blast, I'm sure this is the first of many pics to come. (thanks d) I foresee the majority of my life for the next, dare I say fifteen or more years, being spent on slightly dusty sports fields with one of the boys! It was so neat to watch him be so excited about something. He was especially stoked about the large cheering section he had, complete with my Auntie Barb and her husband from Canada. Another added bonus it that his friends make up four of the six players on the team...we rigged it! They lost miserably and even though the coach said they don't keep score, Ben was acutely aware that his team only made two goals. I swear boys are born competitive!

Some days I feel like I barely have time to breathe, and this Thursday was no exception. It was 4:00pm before I realized I had a Stake Girls Camp Meeting and Brian was at school. I called around and couldn't find anyone to watch the boys and was panicking when I thought of Leah. She came, she cleaned, she put everyone to bed and the boys loved it! I found this pic on my camera and had to post it. They are quite the crew when they are all together, poor MilaBelle doesn't stand a chance!! Leah, thanks so much for being such a great friend. I don't know what I would have done without you.

And Then There Was Room!

Well, after almost 18 months of slamming the door to fit all three carseats in the back of my Accord and with relentless prompting from many "van-lovers", I did it!! We now all have a spot and to spare. I must admit, I love having the extra space, but am a bit uneasy about how far away my children are from me. Those of you that know me well, know I don't rock my babies to sleep or encourage them to become overly attached to me, but nonetheless I am a little lonely in the front of my bus. I feel like part of my identity is lost. I used to pull up next to people at a light and they would point and wave at my troop in the backseat, now I am a true soccer mom who has room to carpool. Although it has been a bittersweet transition for me, the boys are in heaven and Jeffey said "Mom it is so big, it could be our home"! All in all, between the rear air and power sliding doors, I'm sure I will be in love in no time!!!

O Canada!!!!

Of Goodly Parents...

This past week Brian went to Canada on a business trip. He was gone from Wed to Sat night and I had prepared for the worst. I think in the end it was harder on him than on us! I have such a wonderful family that stepped in and helped me in so many ways to make the week so much fun. My sisters family helped out with a big Ninja Turtle Birthday party for Noah. It was so well planned and the boys had a blast bouncing in the Rocket ship and squirting Shredder with water guns.

I have to mention how amazing my parents have been this week and over the last few years of my life. I was so reminded these last few days of how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful father and mother. They are such "doers", my dad spent two days cleaning my yard and building the boys a new swing set from scrap wood, which they adore and oocupies them for hours at a time. The slide is so wide we can race all the lightening mcqueen cars down it at once!! On Friday night they both came over and helped me clean the house, my mom emptied my tub full of laundry and my dad did the days worth of dishes. They played with my boys and called to check on me, changed diapers and anything else that I needed. And this is simply this week. We don't know where we would be without them and the countless hours of help they have given us with all my pregnancies and various medical needs that we have had. I love them so much for honoring my choice of husband and having such great love and patience with the boys. I am so glad they are close especially at this time in my life. Thanks Grandma and Papa!!!!
